Allay began as a small in-home studio in my attic in 2010. In 2011, it grew into a full-time studio in Kensington, MD, open 7 days per week and home to several amazing local yoga + mindfulness teachers. In 2016, I made the difficult decision to close its physical doors and take my teaching and practice into schools, homes, and other studios. Throughout these transitions, my mission remained the same. Whether within our physical walls or in the spaces created on the mat, Allay was always meant to be a home for people to come to and find presence, physical and emotional relief, compassion, and acceptance. In 2021, Allay found a new home in Bethesda, MD. While the mission continues, the offerings have evolved to include Yoga Therapy, focus on individual and semi-private sessions, and center around regulating the nervous system, easing symptoms of anxiety and depression, and strengthening inner resources.
