About Pam
Pam Kaufman, E-RYT 500, RCYT, is the founder of Allay Yoga. Her vision for Allay is to provide a nurturing and inspiring home for students of all ages to come, practice, and simply be as they are. She believes yoga + meditation should be accessible and supportive and that the practice varies for everyone. She has seen it change dramatically for her through a major career change, struggles with infertility, pregnancy, and then motherhood and hopes that Allay can be a safe space for students to explore their own practice throughout life's many transitions.
Pam is an Experienced 500 hour Certified Vinyasa Teacher (E-RYT) through Tranquil Space Yoga in Washington, D.C., as well as a Registered Children's Yoga Teacher (RCYT), through Little Flower Yoga and Mindfulness, based in New York. She is also trained in Yoga For Fertility, Prenatal Yoga and Conscious Birthing, Postnatal yoga, Mindful Schools, and is a graduate of the Institute For Integrative Nutrition. She is currently pursuing her IAYT Yoga Therapy Certification through The Soul of Yoga in Encinitas, California. Pam holds a BA in Social Anthropology from the University of Michigan--Ann Arbor and a MA in Sociology from New York University.
Her goal as a teacher is to provide a safe and supportive environment for students to explore their own mind-body connection. She works with students to develop tools for dealing with life's big and small stresses and managing both mental and physical discomfort. Her teaching style is gentle and fun, but her sequences are intense and designed to bring students to their edge. She hopes finding this balance between gentleness and threshold on the mat can be helpful in finding this balance at home, school, and at work. She incorporates a variety of techniques including physical practice, games, creative art, meditation, breath work, and discussion
